The West Allis Nationals gave their Lombard Orioles their first loss of the season Saturday night, winning game two of the team’s doubleheader 1-0. The Orioles took game one 3-2. Despite the loss, the Orioles remain a virtual lock to win the WSL championship again this year, as they sit at 19-1 with 10 games remaining. Kenosha (10-9) and West Allis (11-10) are the only team’s mathematically still alive. Brian Huntzinger grounded into a fielder’s choice that gave the Nationals their only run in game two – the only run either team would score during the game. Alex Moreland and Austin Emanuel combined for the complete game shutout. Jack Snider took the loss for Lombard. In game one, Lombard jumped out to a 3-0 lead before West Allis made it interesting in the bottom of the sixth with two runs, but it wasn’t enough as the Orioles hung on.
