The Wisconsin State League has announced its decision to delay its 2020 Opening Day from May 24 to a future date. The new opening date will be subject to decisions by national, state and local governments, and subject to health and medical recommendations and group gathering guidelines.

The Wisconsin State League has announced its decision to delay its 2020 Opening Day from May 24 to a future date. The new opening date will be subject to decisions by national, state and local governments, and subject to health and medical recommendations and group gathering guidelines.

“The health and safety of our fans, players and team personnel remains our first and foremost priority,” stated Wisconsin State League Commissioner Steve Elliott.

“We fully understand that our 2020 season will be determined by the leaders in each of our two host states, our seven municipalities and counties, as well as decisions by our ballpark lessors,” Elliott added.

The Wisconsin State League is one of the premier semi-professional/amateur baseball leagues in the mid-west. In operation since 1970, the Wisconsin State League is a highly competitive league that features many of the midwest's top current and former collegiate athletes, as well as many former professional baseball players.
