Braves Dispatch Kings 12-2 Thursday

The Addison Braves put 12 runs across the plate Thursday night to dispatch the Kings 12-2.

On Thursday, the Addison Braves and Kenosha Kings battled at Addison Community Park in Illinois. The Braves defeated the Kings 12-2 and racked up their runs early in the game. In the first inning, infielder Jack Hines walked and advanced to second and third base on singles hit by Neil Freeman and Cy Gerber, which allowed Hines to eventually score a run. A 2-RBI double in the second inning from Ben Espinoza and a fly ball hit by Hines, which was ruled an error by Kings left fielder Adam Cairo, ultimately scored Espinoza, putting the Braves up 4-0.

The Kings made an attempt to battle back in the 7th inning when catcher Riley Hughes walked to get on base and Aaron Schauer hit a line-drive double to right field scoring Hughes. Another line drive to right field from Zack Paczocha scored Schauer giving the Kings the only 2 runs they were able to put on the board.

Braves starting pitcher Zack Jones had a notable 3rd inning, striking out 3 batters swinging, in an impressive 9 pitches. Additionally, Jones struck out the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th batters in the Kings lineup during the fourth inning. In total, Jones racked up 13 strikeouts, 1 hit, and 0 runs in the 5 innings he pitched. Tyler Jones-Shah pitched the final 2 innings for the Braves

Michael Sciafani, Thomas Kahle, Freddie Morales, and Cy Kerber each contributed to the 13 hits the Braves were able to acquire throughout the night.
