WSL Monday Recap: A’s Fall, Orioles Rout Legends

The Sheboygan A's dropped a crucial Northeastern Wisconsin League game to Menasha, while the Lombard Orioles routed the Northern Illinois Legends.

Menasha Macs 5, Sheboygan A’s 2

MAC teammates were too much for the Sheboygan A’s to handle.

In
the first of a week full of must-win games the A’s will play this week against
contenders was lost to the MACs 5-2 Monday night in Menasha.

Englebert
led off the game for Menasha with a home run and followed it with a double, two
singles and a walk. His lead-off home
run sparked a 2-run first inning from which the A’s, who committed five errors,
never recovered.

Menasha
is now 12-5, Appleton 9-4, Sheboygan 10-5 and Oshkosh 7-5. Oshkosh plays in
Sheboygan Tuesday night and Appleton is in town Thursday.

Eric Zuberbier started and won for Menasha. Derek Loomans
pitched six strong innings for the A’s but took the loss. He struck out six in his six innings.

McCoy had two hits and Dan Barwick a double for the A’s.
